Criminal Reentry: Providing a Second Chance Through Expungement and Driver's License Restoration

This program will identify legal barriers that individuals with criminal backgrounds commonly face and focus on the legal relief necessary to ensure successful community and family reunification. Topics will include New Jersey expungement law, including recent amendments effective this year, and driver's license restoration, with particular focus on municipal suspensions and inability to pay child support.
The training will be geared towards attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono services through VLJ's ReLeSe Program.

NJ CLE Information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 3.2 hours of total CLE credit. This program also qualifies for 3.2 hours of credit for NJ municipal court practice for NJ newly admitted lawyers.
