Supreme Court 2017: Three Cases and Their Impacts on Communities

Wednesday, October 11, 2017 | 4:00 PM EDT - 6:00 PM EDT
Registration for this program is now closed. Please see the full listing for upcoming IPE programs.
This program is part of Rutgers Law School’s annual First Monday event, celebrating the start of the Supreme Court’s Term. It will feature discussions of three cases before the Court: the travel ban in the context of rising Islamophobia (IRAP v. Trump), the criminal justice system’s impact on immigrant communities (Sessions v. Dimaya), and excessive use of force by the police (Los Angeles v. Mendez).

During the second hour of the program, the speakers will join small group discussions with interested audience members to dig deeper into the cases and their impacts on communities.

First Monday is sponsored by the Constitutional Rights and International Human Rights Clinics, the Eric R. Neisser program, and the Kinoy-Stavis program at Rutgers Law School.

All are invited to attend the Eric R. Neisser Award ceremony and reception after the program.

This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit.
