Bordering Legal: An Examination of Immigrant Legal Status in the U.S. and Its Impact on Migrating Families

The Rutgers University Law Review symposium will examine the law, policies, and procedures surrounding immigration. The symposium will focus on President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) policies and the deportation and detention of undocumented immigrant families. Topics to be covered include the policy issues related to detention and deportation, the immigration court process, and the constitutionality of DACA and DAPA.

Topics include:

* Access to Counsel for Undocumented Immigrants
* Undocumented Immigrants and Debt

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 as previously stated. Program starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
