This program is co-sponsored by Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (vljnj.org) and the Education Law Center (edlawcenter.org). It will provide a practical overview of handling school discipline cases. Topics will include the relevant laws and the legal rights of students and parents/guardians within the education context, disciplining a student with special needs, challenging school discipline decisions, and re-entering schools from juvenile justice.

This training is designed to prepare attorneys to represent students who are facing exclusionary discipline imposed by their schools and is geared towards attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono services to such clients and are unfamiliar with this area of the law.

FEE WAIVED FOR ATTORNEYS WHO AGREE TO TAKE ONE FULL REPRESENTATION CASE THROUGH VOLUNTEER LAWYERS FOR JUSTICE OVER THE NEXT YEAR. If you intend to volunteer, please indicate so by applying promo code VLJPROBONO321 and the fee waiver will be confirmed when you sign in.
