Probate and Estate Administration: Procedures and Applicable Tax Returns

This program will discuss the probate process, including simple and solemn probate, the various forms of administration and the preparation of the estate inventory and accounting, as well as estate, inheritance and income tax returns. Federal and New Jersey estate and inheritance taxes will be presented and sample tax returns will be provided and discussed. It will also discuss the duties of the executor in administering the estate’s various assets, the use of disclaimers, distributions to beneficiaries and concluding the administration of the estate. An outline and sample forms will be provided.
NJ CLE Information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 4.8 hours of total CLE credit. This program also qualifies for 4.8 hours of credit for NJ basic estate administration for NJ newly admitted lawyers.
