Probate and Estate Administration in New Jersey: Procedures and Preparing Applicable Tax Returns

This program will discuss the probate process, the various forms of estate administration in New Jersey, and the preparation of the estate inventory and accounting, as well as estate, inheritance and income tax returns. Participants will be guided through the probate process from pre-probate to concluding the administration of the estate. An outline and sample forms will be provided.
Topics include:
> Probate process (simple and solemn)
> Forms of estate administration
> Duties of the executor and attorney
> Estate, inheritance and income tax returns (Federal and NJ)
> Use of disclaimers
> Preparing the estate accounting and refunding bonds
> Distributions to beneficiaries
NJ CLE Information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 4.8 hours of total CLE credit. This program also qualifies for 4.8 hours of credit for NJ basic estate administration for NJ newly admitted lawyers.
