This program covers ethics in the morning with an overview of U.S. corporate compliance laws, ethical situations and hot topics when representing corporations and small businesses today. The afternoon session covers eDiscovery case law, challenges, and compliance using fact-based scenarios. The third session covers emerging trends in social media.

Ethically Representing a Corporate Client in a Globalizing World: Overview of US corporate compliance laws and key international laws; scenarios presented of ethical situations and discussion of how to handle.

Hot Topics in 2017: Ethically Representing Big Corporations and Small Businesses: Current ethical issues that lawyers representing businesses need to be aware of, including alternative fee arrangements, conflicting joint or other representations, best practices in documenting client representation, privilege questions, and how to deal with employees who are co-defendants or key witnesses.

Current Happenings in Global Corporate Compliance: From an in-house perspective.

eDiscovery: Methods and systems for ESI (electronically stored information) compliance by applying rules and case law to fact-based exercise scenarios and case studies.

Social Media Evidence at Trial: Emerging trends in social media, including how to authenticate and introduce social media evidence at trial and how to address hearsay use of the ESI.

NJ CLE Information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 8.4 hours of total CLE credit, including 4.8 ethics.
