This program will examine criminal conviction review in light of claims of actual innocence. It will explore “cold case” re-investigations prompted once a wrongful conviction is overturned and an innocent person is freed. Finally, the program will discuss solving cold cases and overturning convictions through the use of DNA and investigative genealogy.
This program is sponsored by the C. Willard Heckel Inn of Court at Rutgers Law School. The Inn brings together highly experienced and distinguished justices, judges, trial attorneys, members of the bar, and Rutgers Law School students to enhance their skills and focus on important issues facing the bar and bench.
