Representing People with Diminished Capacity

The program will explore the ethical challenges involved in representing people with diminished capacity resulting from an intellectual disability, mental illness or advancing age. Panelists will also present an overview of the types of matters (civil only) in which these issues generally arise. The panel will also include several participants who will look at the topic from the perspective of a parent or sibling of a person with a disability. Among the participants will be the Hon. Helen E. Hoens, Assoc. Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court (ret.).
